Wool for your baby
Wool is wonderful for babies. In our opinion, it's a true must-have when you're expecting a child. It's perfect for temperature regulation, safe, and natural. The unique temperature regulation provided by wool cannot be replaced by other materials, which makes wool so comfortable and safe. But of course, you'll want a blanket that is free from chemicals and toxins. We'd love to tell you more about that!
Superwash-free
Superwash is a chemical treatment that some wool products receive to make them more washable. This primarily occurs in wool clothing production. Superwash creates a kind of plastic layer around the fiber. Naturally, you wouldn't want this in your baby's bed. We are proud that all our blankets are free from this process.
Mulesing-free
You may have heard this term before. Mulesing is a painful procedure that lambs and sheep undergo to keep their skin free from certain insects. This treatment is painful and leaves these animals disfigured. Animal welfare is very important to us. Our producers, therefore, produce mulesing-free wool.
Oeko-Tex Standard
Our blankets are also produced according to the Oeko-Tex standard. This guarantees that textiles and dyes used are free from harmful amounts of toxic chemicals, such as heavy metals, banned azo dyes, and carcinogenic pigments. The certification tests the safety of the end product based on skin contact.
Wool certification
Wool can be certified by Woolmark and Wool Integrity NZ. These are important quality marks that stand for safe production. All our producers and end products comply with these as well.
European standards
Our production takes place in the EU. This allows us to maintain control not only over the points mentioned above but also over working conditions. We consider these to be just as important.
